Iglesia Cristiana del Norte Church Plant
Project Atizapan is the construction project for ICN. We urgently need to raise $65,000 for the
construction of the ICN facility. Growth patterns at ICN indicate that until a facility is built
attendance will increase and wane due to the limited space. In order to benefit from its location
and the obvious interest that people have in attending an adequate facility is needed.

A break down of the construction is as follows.

  •       Demolition. We still have some walls and floors that need to be broken up as well as
a cistern where the church building will be built. This can best be done by a backhoe and
    would cost approximately $750 dollars.

  •       Construction site cleanup. The back lots of ICN are filled with broken concrete left
from earlier work groups tearing down old construction. Cost is approximately $60 per
truck load and will take between 10 and 12 loads for a project cost of $600 to $900 for
the trucks to remove the rubble.

  • Construction. Once the necessary permits have been acquired actual construction will
begin. The first stage will involve concrete and block work, working alongside Mexican
brick layers. The cost of this is covered by the $65,000 being raised, but work groups
could stretch the dollar even more through their contribution. We are hoping
that work groups will be available to help with:

  •     1. Foundation work. The foundation will probably be a 2 by 2 foot foundation on
which metal I beams would rest and support the roof. The roof will be done by a

 roofing company.

  •    2. Block walls. Block walls will be constructed around the exterior.

  •   3. Floor pad. This is a basic concrete slab.

  •  4. Classroom construction out of wood or metal studs and sheetrock.

  • 5. Floor tiles. The concrete slab will be tiled at a later time as funds become
               available.

  • 6. Painting. Obviously a lot of painting will be needed in finishing up the facility.

If you are interested in helping build the ICN worship center or with any of
these projects  through a financial gift or a work group we ask that you contact

The traditional means of financially supporting a missionary's work includes sending
monthly sustaining support and putting together a work group to go and work with the
missionary.

Another way to help the work is to adopt a project as a group of churches, a single
church, a Sunday school class or as an individual. This type of support is directed
toward the completion of a particular project that has been chosen. A work group from
the church or churches can take a hands on approach to working with the project,
although that is not always the case.

Projects can be large or small and are something that will improve the ministry and or
serve as a form of outreach to the community and share the ministry of Christ with
others. Some examples of projects are (1) VBS’s, children’s camps, seminars,
retreats and scholarships for retreats; (2) distribution of school supplies, blankets and
winter jackets, Bibles, etc; (3) construction projects such as new construction,
remodeling projects, play equipment, furniture and painting; (4) supplying needed
equipment such as furniture, computers, cameras, literature, projectors, etc.; (5) prayer
walks and drama.

Because projects are of varying sizes and costs one single church may want to take on
one project while another project would need several churches to take it on. Projects
may also lead to more than one church forming a work group or ministry team and
coming together to work on their project.

If you wish additional information about adopting a project or concerning the organizing
of a work group or you would like to talk about dates please contact Steve and Kay
Carpenter at

Support Opportunities
  • Construction: With the growth in attendance and vision of an outreach ministry it has
become clear that construction at the Aguilas site is an urgency. The property is being
sold to us for $65,000 with a wonderful condition. Once we have a structure under
construction $55,000 of the original payment will be returned to us to assist us in the
construction of the building. Plans have been drawn up and costs are now available. We
will soon be sending out information and a request for help with this project.

  • Play Equipment: Since we have a lot of kids attending and we need to teach as well as
entertain them we have decided that we need to build some children’s play equipment.
However, in order not to interfere with construction we will wait to construct the
playground until after the building has at least been initiated.

  • Projector: The Aguilas church needs a projector for their children’s ministry. It will be
used in the teaching, music ministry and showing videos.

  • School Supply Project: The Aguilas church distributes school supplies to more than
750 chilren each August in preparation for classes. This activitie has been a huge
testimony to the neighborhoods and the families. this year we plan to add those in
highschool to our distribution. We need VBS' to help us pay for the large quantity of
supplies. The total cost is around $5,500 dollars.

  • Coat and Sweater Project: The Aguilas church will be distributing light to medium
weight jackets and sweaters in December just as the coldest weather is about to set in.
We need coats and sweaters to be gifted to us for this project.

  • Needed Equipment: Both churches need Spanish Bibles in popular translations that
can be presented to neighbors and included in evangelism packets to be given away.
